Afterpay is an easy payment service that allows customers to make purchases instantly and then pay for them in 4 automatic instalments every 2 weeks, without any interest.
Shop on PLT and checkout as normal. At checkout choose Afterpay as your payment method. If it’s your first time using Afterpay, you will provide payment details as usual to complete your purchase. Once your first order is approved, your Afterpay account is created and will require you to set up a password. You will be able to make more purchases using Afterpay by simply entering your log in details upon checkout. You must be at least 18 years of age, live in New Zealand, have a valid New Zealand Visa/Mastercard debit or credit card and can provide a valid ID such as a driving licence or passport.
Unfortunately, Afterpay is only available to customers with a valid NZ delivery address.
Afterpay will take the first payment at the time you place an order with them – this is usually 25% of the total purchase price. In all cases you will be notified on screen if the first payment is due at the time of the purchase. They will also send you a confirmation email outlining the amounts and dates that the payments are due. For some purchases, if your total order amount exceeds your Afterpay-approved spending limit the first payment may be higher than subsequent payments. Afterpay will show you how the instalments are split before you pay. The remaining 3 payments are taken automatically every 2 weeks from your selected payment method. You can log into your Afterpay account at any time to view your payment schedule or to make an earlier payment.

You will be shown an estimated amount you can spend when you log into your account or app. The amount you can spend using Afterpay generally changes based on how you use your account. Decreased spending amount can be due to late payments, the frequency of late payments, how late a payment was made, how often scheduled payments get declined on your account and how often orders get declined due to insufficient funds on the payment method on-file. Spending amount can be increased for good spending behaviour, like making payments on time.
Yes, you can also use PLT promotional codes with Afterpay to pay for your purchase.
Afterpay returns will follow our free standard returns process, please see here for more information. Refunds for Afterpay will be refunded from PLT to Afterpay and we cannot provide an exchange or cash refund. As soon as the refund has been processed it will drop into your online Afterpay account.
